as much as i dig monkeys, sloths are my favorite Costa Rican animal. they come down from their trees (of which they usually only hang out in about four or five different ones) once a week to do their bid'ness.
they poop once a week folks.
i also discovered that since it actually takes them about two weeks to digest food, if they don't eat food with enough nutritional value, they can starve to death, even if their stomachs are completely full.
fascinating animals. and they look like little old men. this dude was hanging out in front of our casa.
