51. BUOYS
BIG BUOYS
we used to go lobstering (as i believe i mentioned when i posted my lobstah picture) and these buoys are hanging up outside my mom's house. i kinda love all this cape stuff (like old lobster traps and buoys and stuff) and would TOTALLY consider putting some of it up around the house here, although i think it would look a little out of place...what with no ocean nearby or anything.

PHOTO CHALLENGE
hrm. i am giving myself a little time to get these ones. the only one i still need to finish from the last round is "false alarm" and i still have an idea from when my friends and i were going to do a photochallenge at work...but i need to go and buy something for it...

49. V-berries...
This here is a cranberry bog. i love them. don't ask why. if you need an explanation on how one works, i can draw a diagram. i am a cranberry geek.
V-JUICE BOG
also, if you want an explanation as to why i call cranberry juice V-juice...well, you can ask me in person, but i probably won't go writing it out. i will say this though, it keeps your junk in good working order, and my friend marti came up with the name.

47. GREY HOUSE ON A GRAY DAY...
i always argue with myself on the proper way to spell gray. or grey. not that one isn't proper. i just feel like i should commit to one.

45. Heat
BIG FLAME
My friend Ryan was taken pictures of fire dancers for a while, and i always thought the way fire came out in pictures was really cool. so when i was at two of my best friends (Craig and Val) big bash this weekend, i saw a good opportunity to take a cool pic of some fire. i believe this was right after craig decided to put some laminated wood in the big fire pit. boy, was it smokey. but i was there, face in the fire. i think an ember landed on my lip. good times were had.

BIG FISHEYE
Speaking of fish eyes, i REALLY want a fisheye lens. i think that might be a tax-refund purchase this year. then i will post a bunch of funky fisheye pictures for a while.
i am bringing my camera with me on my trek to new england. i am a little excited to get some pictures of where i grew up.

40. For Grandma
So, i am posting a little like a madman, mostly because i have to head out of town on wednesday to go to my grandmother's funeral. i'm cool, it is ok, she died very peacefully this morning. she was a great lady, and i wish i had been able to spend more time with her later in life.
i am totally not a religious person, but this picture i took of this nice stained glass lady popped up on my pictures as i was flipping through them earlier, and if i were a religious person, i would like to think she is watching over my grandma.

38. CROWDS
CROWDS
Dudes, i am on top of my self-imposed photo contest! this is for the "crowds" challenge. so, yes, the picture is blurry, but i could make an argument for this being another happy accident. also, the really cool thing about this picture? if you look on the right side of it, you see one face looking back at me...and that's my friend john! how awesome is that? (he is the dude wearing the blue shirt with the white collar.) i took this heading down into the metro after the fireworks this past fourth of july.

36. The Pier
this is another OBX pic. i started messing around on this trip because i had some new lenses and was all excited to have my new camera, and i totally dug how some of the more "experimental" (or...i don't really know what the hell i am doing) pictures came out.
LIGHTS ON THE PIER
We go to the outer banks every year, and although i don't do anything but read and cook (and take pics, obvs.) it is one of my favorite trips and traditions. and bryan loves the hell out of the beach, as do our two other friends that come with us. personally, the sand is a little too much for me, but i love not having to do anything but relax.
